When it comes to adding tiles to the interior of your house, choosing the right one for the right place can sometimes be tricky as there are a variety of tiles available be it in shapes, patterns, sizes and even materials. Cement

Made of cement, pressed and then left to cure, the cement tiles were once commonly used in the nineteenth or twentieth century and has made a return in the industry today. Available in beautiful patterns and colours, cement tiles are versatile and often bring forth a touch of heritage looks.

Porcelain

When it comes to the most widely used type of tile, porcelain is on the top of the list! They are selected by many interior designers to create a modern and elegant space. Porcelain tiles can not only be used for insides but rather it can also be used for outdoor spaces as it doesn’t fade or crack.

Ceramic

Made up of a mixture of clay and other materials such as quartz, water and even sand, ceramic tiles are another type of tiles that are commonly used by many. Not only are they easy to clean and maintain but rather they’re also affordable to purchase. With ceramic tiles, you also don’t have to worry about it losing colour.

Limestone

Once treated with sealers that protect the surface and keep it stain-free, limestone can be an ideal choice when it comes to adding natural tones and rustic vibes to any space. Limestones are wonderful decorative elements that vary from light white to a pale-yellow shade.

Marble

If you’re looking for one of the oldest decorative materials in the tile industry, look no further than marble tiles. They are widely used in many European countries and still remain to be both functional and beautiful at the same time. You can even use marble tiles for kitchen islands, counter-tops, and vanity tops rather than only the walls and floors.

Terracotta

Terracotta is Italian for ‘baked earth’ and is also considered to be a different type of ceramic tile. Perfect for both indoor and outdoor purposes, terracotta tiles provide a wonderful rustic look to any space. This particular tile is produced by shaping a specific clay into the mould and then firing it in a kiln.
